Emma Starr

Emma brings extensive experience in nonprofit communications and writing to her role as Communications and Content Director at MCAEL. As part of the original team at KID Museum, she helped build the organization from a start-up to a large-scale educational makerspace with a focus on providing hands-on learning experiences to students from underserved communities. Emma began her career working for a national nonprofit organization and went on to serve as Editor for the online version of a national publication. She earned her M.A. in Writing from the University of Texas at Austin’s Michener Center for Writers, and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

When she’s not writing or communicating at work, Emma enjoys spending time with her family and making elaborately shaped cakes – and eating them!
